The Tyler Public Library on Thursday celebrated five years as a Family Place Library and received its official banner from the national nonprofit organization.
Getting the banner “felt amazing,” said Amy Skipper, youth services librarian.
More than 60% of children in Houston ISD are not equipped with the literacy skills they need in order to learn how to read. New library spaces and programs are designed to change that.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday to celebrate Schimelpfenig Library’s official designation as a Family Place Library. City officials say the designation highlights Plano Public Library’s commitment to supporting families with early learning tools.
