Copperas Cove Public Library

We held 2 Parent-Child Workshops in 2025: 

Mondays, April 21-May 19, 2025, 10-11:15 am,  and Mondays, September 8-October 6, 2025, 10-11:15 am.

Our library got it's own Facebook page  in May 2025, which has resulted in an increase of attendance  with all of our programs,  including our fall Parent-Child Workshop, and our Story Time programs.Our PCW families are coming to our ST programs, and are spending more time in our Children's Room. At the present time, there is a large group of soldiers from Fort Hood that are deployed overseas, and we are making a point to reach out to those  moms who are coming to the library with their children.

We held a Touch-A-Truck event on March 18, 2025, during the week of spring break that was well attended by our library families; We will be holding another Touch-a-Truck event during spring break on March 17, 2026, that will include folks from the Texas Agri-Life Extension Agency, Fort Hood Family Advocacy, Chick-Fil-A, and a local urgent care clinic.

On April 8, 2025, we had our onsite visit from Family Place Libraries and received our official FPL banner; On April 15, 2025, we partnered with Fort Hood Family Advocacy as part of their "Month of the Military Child", and held a car seat inspection; We will be holding another car seat inspection on April 14, 2026, with FHFA.

On September 4, 2025, we held a "Block" Party to kick-off our Toddler and Story Times, pulling out all of our blocks, and setting up play areas for families of toddlers. Fort Hood Family Advocacy, and Texas Agri-Life were on hand with information about their programs.

In our Children's Room, we are seeing more traffic on a daily basis, and not just after the Story Time programs. Over the summer we had high school art students and a local artist decorate many of the walls in the Children's Room with bright, story- themed murals, that have added to the happy atmosphere of the room.

Our next scheduled PCW  is for Fridays, February 27-March 27, 10-11:15.
