Southglenn Library - Arapahoe Libraries

Adopting the Family Place model has strengthened our libraries and deepened our support for families. By focusing on the whole child, our libraries serve as welcoming community hubs with developmentally appropriate spaces, literacy-rich programming, and knowledgeable staff that foster early literacy and lifelong learning. Southglenn Library has seen growing visitation, especially among young children and Spanish-speaking families, who continue to gather to play, connect, and learn despite the absence of an enclosed children’s area. Southglenn has added a new program called Learning on the Go to their list of family activities to provide more options during the week beyond storytime. Through Family Place, Arapahoe Libraries advances its vision of a literate, informed, and fulfilled community by fully including our youngest community members.
