Hewlett-Woodmere Public Library

The Hewlett-Woodmere Public Library is an in-development Family Place Library. 

In October 2024, the Assistant Director, Catherine Nashak, and Head of Youth Services, Caroline Lynch, attended the Family Place training at the Middle County Public Library. Following the training, they began implementing the components of a Family Place Library, including planning the Parent Child workshop, expanding the toy collection, and updating the parenting book selection. 

The first Family Place Parent Child workshop took place at the Hewlett-Woodmere Public Library in May 2025. It was an astounding success. The program was held again in the fall of 2025. Those two sessions of the workshop brought in over 300 parents, children, and caregivers.
