The Andrew Carnegie Free Library & Music Hall invites families with children of all ages to visit our historic location in Carnegie, Pennsylvania, a location which earned us the affectionate nickname the "Carnegie Carnegie." The Carnegie Carnegie is more than a Library — it is a music and events venue, a community hub, a home away from home for many of our families.
At the Carnegie Carnegie, children are encouraged to learn, read, imagine, and play. We offer a robust calendar of regular programming for children and their caregivers, including weekly storytime programs for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers alike; a weekly Stay & Play drop-in playtime program; as well as a variety of special programs and events for our little learners, like musical storytimes, screenings of new PBS Kids' series, and our Family Place Libraries signature Parent-Child Workshop series, Play, Learn, Grow.
Stop in to "check out" the large and growing collections in our Children's Library, which include thousands of books, DVDs, audiobooks, puzzles, toys, and more! We are currently working on expanding our World Languages Collection to reflect Carnegie's growing and diverse community. This collection now includes titles in Arabic, Dari, Hindi, Marathi, Russian, Spanish, Turkish, Ukrainian, and Uzbek, among others.
Stay awhile and play in our toy kitchen, design roads at our train table, put together puzzles, create art or practice writing with our Art Cart, and stretch your imagination with lots of other toys and creative space for kids.
The Mission of the Andrew Carnegie Free Library & Music Hall is to build community with a library, theater, and historic site that welcome, inform, entertain, and engage the community and the region in lifelong learning.
