Central Branch - Berkeley Public Library

Part of our aim as a Family Place library is to help all families feel welcome and supported, and to connect them to resources, whether that be a child development specialist, a book on potty training, other city agencies, or the wisdom and insight of other families. 

In addition to our Family Place Parent-Child workshops and other programs aimed at young children and their families, our Family Place Area has become one of the most popular congregation spots on the Children's Floor. It's not only a popular destination after story times and big program events, but even on a daily basis, when we have families and caregivers playing with the kitchen set, transportation toys, puzzles, blocks, and sharing board books and picture books together.
