Owen R. Hopkins Library - Corpus Christi Public Libraries

The Family Place Area at the Owen R. Hopkins Library has seen an increase in use this past year. We have families visiting specifically to enjoy this dedicated space at different times of the day. We are continuing to welcome new families who are discovering the area and making it part of their regular visits. 

The kitchen playset and the red phone have been a hit with our families. They are truly favorites. We see children interact with their guardians and other children when they are playing in the area. In addition, we see kids of all ages reading books on our green bean bags.

We have also seen growing participation from new families in our workshops. Families are discovering community resources that are available to them. They also get to meet and interact with other families with children of the same age.

The Family Place has really made a positive impact on our library and our community. You can really see the impact when families visit and play in our area.
