The family place model has been very popular in Madison. We have many children who have received help from birth to 3 because of the program. Many parents with children who have special needs enjoy the workshops because it allows their children to participate and interact with the rest of the community. Sometimes in traditional programs for this age group parents feel they are being judged because their children may not be able to conform. Many parents have formed friendships for their children and themselves because of the workshops. I feel it adds a level of professionalism to what our library does.
