The Family Place initiative has continued to have a very positive impact on the Dover community. It should be noted that The Dover Public Library has been undergoing a major renovation throughout 2025. This renovation means the library was temporarily moved to a smaller building next door, which has added some challenges to implementing certain aspects of Family Place. However, the library has been able to create a smaller play corner, while still offering engaging programs for young children. This includes Family Carnivals, Baby Storytime, Messy Art, Family Dance, collaborative community art projects, collaborations with The Children's Museum of New Hampshire, giant bubble shows, and more. In addition to books, the library also houses a large collection of Library of Things items for children. This year, Yoto Cards, and Players were added to this collection, and have become incredibly popular. Since the implementation of the Family Place core components, the Children's Room at the Dover Public Library has become a destination for families with young children. This has continued, even while in a temporary home.
