Harborfields Public Library

Our family place is designed for families with infants and toddlers of all abilities as well as their adult caregivers both Harborfields and out of district patrons. It is a well utilized section with comfortable seating along with a number educational sensory boards.  iPads can be borrowed for use in the Children's room on request.   The space is divided into two sections  along with a separate large room for daily programming.  We offer a train table, Lego table, market, puppet theater and play kitchen along with a variety of puzzles, sensory items for children of all abilities and age appropriate toys. We recently added a tubular reading nook where children can cozy up and read or spend quiet time with friends.  Also included  are board books, big books, picture books and an extensive parenting collection along with a wooden train and boat with a dock for families to spend time reading and playing. Our Family place space is busy on a daily basis. New families have built life long friendships by attending the family place section of the Children's room and also attending the parent/child workshops. Many young children have taken their first steps while in the library or at a program.  It is a warm and welcoming section of our library that fosters creative play and a true love or reading for children and their families. We also provide customized book bundles, and a wide variety of kits -  STEAM Kits, Concept Backpacks, Gardening Kits, ASL Kits, Telling Time Kits along with Kool Kits, New Sibling Kits, Potty Kits and Early Literacy Kits.
