Early Childhood Area
Learn and Play Garden
Two children sit on the floor of a library play area, surrounded by a variety of toy dinosaurs. One child holds up a dinosaur figure while the other reaches forward with another toy, appearing to play together.

The Longwood Public Library provides interactive play spaces for children both indoors and outdoors. Children can visit the Early Childhood Area inside and make new friends as they play with the train table, the kitchen and market set, dollhouses, various building blocks in all shapes and sizes as well as our puppet theater, Lego table, preschool computers and puzzles. During the spring, summer and fall months, children and families can play outside in the Learn and Play Children's Garden. This space, located behind the Children’s Room, is an interactive sensory garden designed specifically for families with young children. Water play, music, and art are interwoven with nature in a beautiful, colorful, organic space.
