Comsewogue Public Library

Our Family Place play space has a powerful impact on our library and community. It enriches the lives of many children who come through our doors by providing recreation, socialization, and learning through play. The play space also has increased the number of visits and length of time that families stay in our department.  They then also become aware of other library materials and services available to them. The Family Place strongly supports the five early literacy practices associated with Every Child Ready to Read (sing, talk, read, write, and play). Patrons and visitors are very receptive and appreciative of our play space, and many friendships among children, caregivers, and families have been born here.
