In 2025, our continued work as a Family Place Libraries member deepened the way we connect with families.
Through our continued partnership with Family Service League, Inc., we have a social worker on site for eight hours each week, giving caregivers direct access to support, guidance, and resources right here in the library.
We also strengthened our community connections by continuing monthly storytime visits with local preschools and partnering with Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine, who host tabling events to share valuable information with families. In addition, we worked with Assemblywoman Jodi Giglio and the Suffolk County Sheriff's Office to bring Operation Safe Child to our community. This allows families to obtain child ID cards that can be critical in an emergency.
Within our space, we’ve continued to grow as well. The addition of a play market and dress-up station has transformed our early childhood area, and it’s been so rewarding to watch children fully immerse themselves in imaginative play.
More than anything, the library has become a true community hub. A place where caregivers come not just for books, but for support, reassurance, and connection. Family Place has helped us build something deeper: a trusted space where families feel seen, supported, and at home.
