The Adamstown Area Library is skyrocketing! Our library patrons comment about the welcoming and cozy feel. Families meet here for playdates especially at our ever-popular Play & Learn Center (which promotes the 5 Basics). The center includes toys, puppets, vocab, flannel board, instruments, blocks, books, and more. Our space also includes a train table, blocks, coloring table, puzzles, kitchen set, and more.
Our workshops are once again partnered with the Cocalico School District and Parents as Teachers. With all 3 organizations working together, we reach more families and especially those in low-income status. We not only have Resource Professionals come to our Workshops, but we also invite them during storytimes so families can feel comfortable asking questions. We utilize retired teachers as volunteers during our workshops, including a previous special education teacher. This gives our families a secure feeling that their children are in a safe environment. We also bring in "future teacher" high schoolers as volunteers.
