Our Family Place library is a welcoming place for caregivers and children to play, read and explore. We offer a circle with age appropriate toys that are rotated every 4 to 6 weeks. We also offer an interactive area for playscapes (such as Play K sets) and a coloring/drawing table. Our parent collection is right beside the playscape table. We have adapted to COVID changes by offering parents more "take and make" activities, such as crafts and interactive handouts asking parents to help their children locate familiar things around their houses and neighborhoods. We have also taken a lot of our programming to the internet and to a local park in order to continue providing our services during this time. During our parent child workshops we devote our entire auditorium to providing a safe welcoming play area for children and their caregivers. Our room is set up very closely to the room at the training. I found so many great ideas there, and put most of them into practice. Little ones and caregivers that are new to the program always get excited when they first enter the room and see everything set up, and we find that they have a hard time leaving :)
