The Children's Department is a safe, welcoming space with books and resources for children and their families, innovative programs, grab-and-go activities, and play areas that are open during library hours. Through our community partnerships, we support early literacy efforts with programs and activities that promote language development and a lifelong love of reading. Our dramatic play spaces encourage creative play and social skills development. The open art center inspires creativity and promotes early writing skills. On any given day, you can see both children and caregivers having fun: coloring, building with blocks, "eating" at our play kitchen, and playing with our big train set. Our cozy Reading Nook offers a quiet space for relaxing and reading. Our library is a place where families can gather for programs, read and check out books, play, find community resources, and interact with others.
