Blue Ridge Regional Library - Martinsville Main Branch

The Family Fun Zone is still the most popular place in the library! The set up of the room has not changed, at least not yet, but I am hoping to get some money that would help me change that. I would really like to get rid of a couple of the tables, to open up more room, and get some new seating that can be pushed under the tables for that same reason. I am also hoping to add some softer seating and sensory toys. I have noticed in the past year that families with children who have special needs and/or sensory issues have been using the Family Fun Zone as the place to meet with their therapists. It would be nice to have materials to make these families feel more welcome and comfortable. In addition, preschool classes have been coming to the library for field trips and those visits always have to include a visit to my Glow-in-the-Dark Museum and playing in the Family Fun Zone.
