The children's department is a welcoming space with books and resources for children and their families, innovative programs, and play areas that are always open. Through our community partnerships, we are supporting early literacy efforts with programs and activities that promote language development and develop a love of reading. Our independent dramatic play spaces encourage creative play and vocabulary development. Both children and caregivers interact with our age appropriate play areas (dramatic play, puppet theater, games, puzzles, blocks, and coloring area). Our library is a place where families gather for programs, books, play, community resources, and interactions with other people. Our families want a place to gather together and the number of participants in our programs has more than doubled from 2018 to the end of 2019.
