New Braunfels Public Library is proud to be a part of the Family Place Library network. This year we had our first workshop series, Play & Learn, and it was wonderful to see the connections being made and the impact on the families that participated. We will be conducting additional sessions on a quarterly basis and have added a new Parenting Collection in our Children's Room. Our early learning space is still in development with an anticipated completion of later this spring. Like many libraries across the country grappling with the pandemic, we had to innovate to ensure continued service to our community. New initiatives included YouTube playlists and Storytime to Go backpacks that contained shakers, scarves, song sheets, books, and a CD to help parents and caregivers recreate the storytime experience at home. Currently, we're offering early literacy programming five days a week and a host of programming for all ages. Through Family Place, we have created new partnerships and strengthened existing ones with agencies in our community including BCFS, SJRC Texas, NB Food Bank, and WIC, among others. NBPL invites residents in our area and visitors to come explore our Family Place Library!
