Middle Country Public Library is the national model for Family Place Libraries and has two locations; MCPL-Centereach and MCPL-Selden. Each library has a developmentally appropriate play space on the public floor that attracts approximately 3,000 monthly visitors, respectively. Each space is equipped with a variety of toys for ages birth-5 years as well as comfortable seating for parents. We offer a wide array of programs for parents/caregivers and their young children; Movin’ and Groovin’, Toddlers Explore, Twinkle Twinkle Rhymes, Kick and Play, Parachute Play, Early Childhood Workshop, and of course the Family Place signature program, the Parent Child Workshop. We are part of numerous outreach and collaborations throughout our community and are very proud of our partnership with Family Service League, Inc., which allows us to have a social worker working within our library locations for 15 hours per week. Our library is truly one of the most loved destinations for families within our community.
