Our library's family place has made a huge impact on our community. When we reopened to the public in mid-2021, we had limited toys available in the space, and children made use of every piece of furniture and their imaginations to play innovate games. Since the toys have been available, the kids are in love with everything from the market and kitchen, to the Legos and the dramatic play table. The nature reading haven is often used as a treehouse and a fort. Before and after story times, it is a huge hit. Families come throughout the day to enjoy the Family Place, and large groups of families meet for playdates on the weekend. Numerous parents and caregivers have thanked us for providing it, and it is so well loved that families come from neighboring towns to use the space.
