Our Family Place Library provides Smarty Pants Storytime for families with children ages 1-3 and Family Place Workshops for children ages 0-3 with a caregiver. We offer a play area with educational toys, a parenting collection, board books, Vox Read-Along Books, and two early literacy AWE Learning computers. We provide online access to free positive parenting tips via Ready Rosie, as well as talking and animated books and educational puzzles and games through Tumble Book Library. Parents and caregivers with children ages 0-5 use the library as a place to not only find materials to read or music to listen to, but a place to acquire parenting information and early literacy skills. Our Family Place Library has provided a space for families to come together and bond with each other. Many friendships have been formed in this space. Even when we are between storytime sessions, families come to the library at the regularly scheduled time, in order to visit with each other and avail themselves to the many early literacy experiences we provide. With our welcoming staff, eagerly providing information on all our many services and programs, the library has become a place where families with young children feel welcomed, appreciated and cared for.
