The parents of our community really appreciate the toys in the children's area, as well as the parent child workshops. We have newly installed outdoor musical instruments that are being enjoyed!

The families that attend enjoy the multitude of toys to play with during a session as well as the parents having the chance to interact with other parents. Families that attend enjoy the learn-through-play concept and express interest in the special guests that are available some of the weeks during a session. Families enjoy the concept of learn-through-play so much, that we have added a play component session during times when the program is not running a session.

Being a Family Place Library has given us the training and language for staff to explain the importance of play in early childhood development. It helps staff reinforce that ages 0-5 are extremely important in a child’s development and we are able to have a tremendous impact through the design of our spaces, collections, programs, and community partnerships.
