The Fountain Branch Library became a Family Place Library in June of 2014. This library is a community destination for families; there are very few other public places that offer a safe indoor place and developmentally appropriate toys for families with very young children to meet and play. We have toys that encourage imaginative play and also build early literacy and motor skills. Our play area looks out on an outdoor patio at the edge of Adams Open Space. Families in the area come to the library to meet other families with children the same age of their child. The library is near an army base, and many families are new to this area, have left their familial support, and are able to make good friendships with families they have met in the play area or in any of the programs for our youngest patrons. This small community library values young children and works hard to make it welcoming. We are happy to be a Family Place Library.
